For the fun of it I've started a small let's play. It's only going to go for a few episodes or so. See how things go. etc.

I'm playing the Direwolf20 mod pack in Feed The Beast. Some fun mods without going over the top.

I was actually playing Minecraft with my nephew yesterday and we watched this earlier. He's jealous of the fact that the creepers don't cause damage and he likes the timber mod. It's a shame we don't know how to get these mods on XBox - I'm actually not even sure we can.

Psht, do you know how often I cheat and use the wiki for things anymore? :|

I want bats too. :\ But I'd be lame and name him Bruce Wayne.

Creepers do cause damage. If you get a creeper in the water, the water adsorbs the explosion preventing damage to the blocks. (Tip for the future )

Yeah, unfortunately the xbox can't be modded. And is several versions behind the normal release which means you miss out on a lot. But hey, it's still Minecraft!

It also occurred to me that with how advanced some of the mods are I'd have to use the wiki just to get started, otherwise I'd never stumble on to them.
