Sold out?
My wifes interested in GW2 so we looked around trying to get it and it seems every wheres sold out. Tried game, gamestation, shopto, play, amazon etc (dont wanna buy from third party) So we figured we`d pay abit more and get it from arenanet direct and download it, but its sold out there aswell???! - https://buy.guildwars2.com/en-gb/I understand how play and amazon etc dont have any in as you run out of disc to ship etc, but how do you run out of generating codes?

It's happened to a couple of games in the past. I remember Steam running out of CDkeys for some game once. And people had to wait till they acquired more. I think its because despite it being digital there are only so many keys created at one time. Then if a supplier runs out they have to request more. Another reason DRM is pointless.

From what I heard, their servers couldn't keep up with all the people getting it so they stopped distributing temporarily. It would explain constantly being in overflow :X
I'd give it a week, tops.

looks like they have stopped the digital download of the game for the moment * due to server strain * should be availble again in a week or less

you sure its 50 pounds m8...I think its 50 euros right here... and 15 euros per month for EVE isnt expensive? hehe  Remember...this is a full scale mmo, that you can play forever. Prob much longer then 3 months. Subscription models are ok...and a way to ensure the clients they are getting the best service etc. But this method clearly works too. 50 euros sounds expensive...but the amount of gameplay you get for it...is insane. This is one of the biggest games ever made prob. Very noice. And if you can get it cheaper...go for it...though you prob need to wait a bit.
