Clan Council : Weekly Newsletter [13]

Hello Wolves,
It's a long time since we hadn't got our weekly newsletter. I'm totally sorry about that. The website breakdown and time travel caused many troubles in our organisation.
After 2 weeks now that the site is back, we will have to live with this time gap, and carry on with our story. Well, I suppose this is not such a big deal as in the WPC story, the websie has known many and many "rebirth". So, many thanks for your patience.
Anyway, this finally gives us some break to think about our futur. And that's what I did. First of all, I have noticed a critical drop down of the AvP game activities. Each and every time I log on the server screen, I see a very short list of active game servers. All in all, I would be able to count the actives servers on my fingers. A consequence of this is that our own activity is dropping down too. Not much more serious applications, and generally speaking the game interest is slowly but surely passing by...
What does this mean for us? It's again time for a change, a switch and an adaptation. Many of us do not want to quit the game, which we all know, is part of our history, and our current reactivation. Though, we still need to discover other "online" and "virtual" horizons. We need to find another game where we could carry on with our expansion.
But we need to be organised. So I suggest the following steps:
1. Define game criterias.
- online and/or solo game, - game type (fps or not), - game background (sci-fi, history, present, etc.), - dedicated game servers, - plateforms (pc, WII, console), - 1 or more games, - should this game be already available or not etc.
Please post here what would be in your opinion, the choice criterias...
2. Check for a game that would fit our criterias ;
3. proceed to a vote.
This is now our priority.
And remember, a patient hunter always gets his reward...

Re: Weekly Newsletter [13]
good post. Now we need to define wich game is good for this clan's future.
What is the current hype amongst our gamers? It has been a couple of dry months in game-world, but I see allot of console gamers getting into Battlefield : BC 2. Its not my kind of game, but its played allot. Me personally am into Red Dead redemption currently, wich also has a decent MP. Uncharted 2 has a solid MP but both games arent really the right theme for this clan. Idd like to see a game that is popular for all systems, but I have no clue what the right choice is. Hell, I would even love to play Halflife 2 DM at this point lol. (wich I still do from time to time hehe)
There is a bright future ahead of us though... Its getting more and more certain that Aliens : Colonial Marines is getting released this year together with the BLue Ray release of the Alien movies. @ the E3 Sega will finally show us a playable version of the game and prob set a releasedate. (hopefully) Fingers crossed, cous this is a game that this clan needs and is released on all platforms.

Re: Weekly Newsletter [13]
The only suggestions I can make are IF you do decide to expand the community with other current games, is that revamp the forums a bit to have small icons to which people choose as the games they are currently active in. For example, a person can go to their account settings, and select from a drop down menu (which has to be coded) in which games they play. Now when they post on the forums, a small icon(s) will be under the avatar or on that side somewhere, with a mouse over to tell what game it is if people dont know the games. With that, expanding the clan will come with more responsibility. People will actually want to use out-game voip systems like Ventrillo or TeamSpeak, so they can still communicate even if their clan-mate is in a different clan. After all, this is a community.... However, taking in consideration of both Buzz and Hemi, there are a few things that are gonna happen here soon with AVP. The patch is due quite soon, and might bring life back into this game...you never know. That being said, just think about all the possibilities.... I am for one fond of making new friends, and lately given our current situation with the time warp, the site has been quiet lately. Its a double-edge sword, but I am good to go with the decisions to be made in the near future. -WooDy

Re: Weekly Newsletter [13]
good post woody. I agree, lets wait and see what rebelion has in store for the future. In the mean time lets see what we can "consider" a good alternative if and when we move on.

Re: Weekly Newsletter [13]
I have never said we had to quit AvP. Just we need to consider an evolution. @Woody: your game tag is kinda easily doable. Good idea indeed, but we are not there yet. @Zeeky: please don't rush so fast. Nothing is planned yet.

Re: Weekly Newsletter [13]
I think it would be very much in the clans spirit to choose a game within the Aliens or Predator universe... Maybe the new Predator movie will bring a game with it? Film attached games tend to suck balls though... I would like to suggets Heroes of Newerth again, since it's a very fun team play game, the big drawback is that it is a PC game only. It is not a heavy game though. Good to see a newsletter again

Re: Weekly Newsletter [13]
I agree with Xmus. AVP has always been the clans focus, and will always remain that way. So there is no harm branching out into other games, especially if current AVP games are quiet. Everyone knows when AVP picks up again, we will all be right back to it. Thats what I think, even though I'm a new guy.
I just tried Half Life 2 deathmatch there. It was really good fun. And I can see why people go for it. Especially when most of WPC are PC players. So I think it's a good thing for PC players. Though since I played it, I had horrible lag, and my PC isnt really up to scratch, hence why I'm a console player. Even though it was fun, I'll stick with the Ps3 as my system, where I know my limits^^.
Half Life 2 seems to be good for PC players. Though I suggest something different for 360 and Ps3, especially ones like me who cant play Half Life to it's potential. if we are branching out, we need something for console players in WPC. I'll be happy to pay and play any console game with my fellow WPC friends^^

Re: Weekly Newsletter [13]
That is one of the problems, there isnt really anything comin out the next few months. Im all for keepin it first person and third. Strategy games doesnt really feel like WPC to my opinion.
