Clan Council

Hey Hey people, once again I am here to take the reins, and bring you all a super happy fun-time Newsletter! This week, we'll talk about why losing bets suck, Chickenman, and maybe lil somethin somethin from the Netherlands to set the mood.

So lets raid this tomb, my fellow raiders....and get on to the good stuff!

Ever wanted to leave planet Earth behind for a one-way ticket to Mars? Here is your chance to apply for a mission that claims to make it possible.
More than 78,000 people have signed up for Mars One, a Dutch company’s project that aims to put four people on the Red Planet every two years, starting in April 2023.
Among those who applied to leave Earth behind forever are a self-described spacecraft engineer from MIT and an award-winning author of science fiction.

“Going to Mars would make me feel like I am a true 'Star Trek' officer,” said Michael Archavian, one of the many applicants. Archavian describes himself on his social media accounts as a former home health aide.
He said that if selected he would "do a lot of exploring, see the sites, stay up at night to see the dual moons.”

The project aims to be funded by a media event fashioned after a reality show and even “Big Brother” co-creator Paul Rome is on board. If it all sounds to good to be true, the company is also being backed by Nobel Prize-winning physicist Gerard’t Hooft.

This would also explain why Hemi has gotten back into playing Star Trek Online lately LOL.

British business magnate Richard Branson, right, dressed up as an AirAsia flight attendant, and AirAsia's Chief Executive Tony Fernandes prepare to spray champagne during an AirAsia promotional event after Branson arrived at the low cost carrier terminal in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Sunday, May 12, 2013. The Virgin Group founder had his legs shaved, put on lipstick and squeezed into the red skirt to honor a bet by serving as a flight attendant on an AirAsia trip from Perth, Australia, to Malaysia. Branson lost a bet to Fernandes in 2010 after they both wagered their Formula One racing teams would finish ahead of each other.

See, this is why I wouldnt recommend betting like this. Money may be one thing, but this? lol
Id probably end up looking like this all the time if I did it like that, shiiiiiiit.

On Tuesday, May 7, CNN broadcasted the news, Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus have been found after being abducted 10 years ago. Charles Ramsey, the man who found them, has become an internet star and local hero.

In Ramsey’s 911 call, (which you can listen to here) Ramsey is telling the 911 operator that his neighbor is trying to break out of her house. “I got on the porch and she said, ‘Help me get out, I’ve been here a long time,’” Ramsey says, recalling the events.

CNN reports that Ramsey and a man named Angel Cordero broke down the door. It wasn’t until Ramsey called 911 that he realized he had just saved Amanda Berry, the woman who has been missing for 10 years, “I thought this girl was dead,” Ramsey says.

BAMF right there!

Amanda Berry was last seen at a Burger King in Cleveland back in 2003, she was 17-years-old at the time. The other women found in the house are Georgina ‘Gina’ DeJesus, who disappeared at age 14 in 2004 and Michelle Knight, who disappeared at age 19 in 2002.

I hope the 3 brothers that did this get what they deserve....but all in all, I'm glad this had a happy ending!
...moving on...

The modern holiday of Mother's Day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother in Grafton, West Virginia. She then began a campaign to make "Mother's Day" a recognized holiday in the United States. Although she was successful in 1914, she was already disappointed with its commercialization by the 1920s. Jarvis' holiday was adopted by other countries and it is now celebrated all over the world. In this tradition, each person offers a gift, card, or remembrance toward their mothers, grandmothers, and/ or maternal figure on mother's day.
Various observances honoring mothers existed in America during the 1870s and the 1880s, but these never had resonance beyond the local level. Jarvis never mentioned Julia Ward Howe's attempts in the 1870s to establish a "Mother's Day for Peace", nor any connection to the Protestant school celebrations that included "Children's Day" amongst others. Neither did she mention the traditional festival of Mothering Sunday, but always said that the creation was hers alone.

Anyway...
I just wanted to wish all the mothers out there, from the WPC and beyond, a very Happy Mothers Day! Make sure all of you give your mom a call, or tell her to her face how much she means to you!

So it seems that some of the Shit we say on TS is now going down in history! For some odd reason I get quoted a lot, but a lot of us say funny stuff all the time in TS. If you want to check out some of the quotes, go to http://shitthewpcsays.tumblr.com/ and check it out!

WPC Radio
The radio will be hopefully on the site soon. We are currently working on getting out all the bugs, and setting up the pages / players / ect. Well, when I say "we", I really mean Hemi and Whisky :) So stay tuned for updates and all that Jazz....

Seems like we have a couple of games, that we play, have had updates. So lets see what we have here...

Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army ups the ante with Spring updates
Two major new features added in less than a month based on player feedback
Independent UK developer Rebellion has today released update 1.05 for co-op survival shooter Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army, not only enabling co-op players to multiply the numbers of enemies they face, but also adding support for drop in / drop out functionality.
Hot on the heels of April’s popular ‘Multiplier’ update - allowing solo-players to multiply the numbers of enemies they face to terrifying levels - this update is the second major feature added to the game in less than a month based on suggestions and comments from the game’s growing community.

Update 1.05 also includes a small selection of fixes.

Key Features:
Drop in / Drop out functionality added. (See technical notes below)
Co-op enemy multiplier added. (e.g 2 players can play against 4 player numbers of enemies)

Fix list:
Fix for potential progression blocker on Cathedral level.
Fix for progression blocker on Library Of Evil.
Fix to make sure Bullet cam "minimal" settings reduces bullet cameras in game.
Fix to stop score points exploit on skeletons.

Known issues:
Some single player inter level saves will be invalidated with this update. This was due to level progression fixes. If problems are encountered a level restart may be required.

Technical notes on drop in /drop out:
- Can only join whilst players are in lobby or in actual gameplay.
- Cannot join whilst in loading, waiting for players, syncing, cutscenes or end game menus.
- Private match option blocks all joining.
- Quick match can be found and joined by any player unless private match is selected.
- Private game can only be found and joined by friends, either through an invite from host or by selecting to join game from steam in-game overlay, unless private match is selected.
- The private match option can be toggled both in the lobby and in game via the pause menu.
- The private match option is not available when in cutscenes or end game menus.
- Players joining outside safe zones will spawn at the host position.
- If the enemy multiplier is set to default then when a player joins the enemies increase to match the number of players.
- If the enemy multiplier is set to default then when a player leaves the number of enemies will only decrease to match the player numbers when a safe zone is reached.
- Host must wait for players joining a game to be fully in gameplay before being able to restart a game - a message box will popup informing the host of this.

[ GAMEPLAY ]
- Mag7 - reduced cost to 1800.
- Mac10 - increased price to 1050.
- XM1014 - reduced damage to 20.
- Body parts penetration code will not register headshot damage when penetrating into the neck hitbox through the chest hitbox, only chest damage will be dealt in this case.

[ MAPS ]
- Updated de_favela to latest version.
- Fixed some bugs in de_inferno where the player could get stuck on geometry, fixed some minor bugs (Thanks Wλve!).

[ MISC ]
- If a player was vote kicked from too many recent competitive games the matchmaking system will assign them a competitive cooldown.
- Added sever command line support for -net_port_try 1 to prevent servers from trying to climb ports if the request port was busy.
- Fixed a rare grenade physics interaction that could cause grenades to spin in place when thrown at certain kinds of physics props or players.
- Adjusted default value of sv_maxusrcmdprocessticks server convar to 16 for community servers with default settings to successfully process all user commands from even lowest tickrate and framerate clients.
- When going to overtime players who survived in the last round will start with empty inventory even though teams don't switch sides.
- Fixed flashbang number not updating on the hud if you had set "close after buy."

Well I think thats all from me this week, I think I'm gonna try that new Marvel game for a bit or something :) But i'll leave you with the funny video of the week, Ciao for now!
