Clan Council : Newsletter 151

Clan Council

Ohhhhh its that time of the week again, where another great newsletter is produced by the goofiest of goof, the one and only WoooooDy! This week we take a look at what Sony has been up to, the BAD fashion of London, and why Blaze should get a Steam account already! So lets do this sh*t.....#YOLO!

14 Feb 2013 (France)
The motorist had been driving to a local supermarket when his specially-adapted Renault Laguna developed the nightmare fault.
A terrified driver trapped in his speeding car at 125mph with a jammed accelerator and no brakes said yesterday: “It was like my life flashing before me.”
Disabled Frank Lecerf, 36, had been driving to a local hypermarket when his specially-adapted Renault Laguna developed the nightmare fault. Suddenly the car began accelerating on its own as he drove sedately along a 60mph dual carriageway close to his home in Pont-de-Metz, near Amiens, in northern France.
Without him putting any pressure on the accelerator, its speed slowly started to increase – and Mr Lecerf could do nothing at all about it. Soon the car had reached a terrifying speed of 125mph and Mr Lecerf began suffering health problems as he swerved in and out of traffic and through three toll booths.
“I just wanted it to stop,” he said.
Desperately, he phoned police who sent out high-speed police cars to create a “safety” convoy round him.

The trail of cars sped across France for 150 miles – miraculously avoiding a serious accident – like a scene from the Hollywood blockbuster Speed.

20 Feb 2013 (London)

From psychedelic tracksuits to neon mini-dresses, fans of the annual event broke all the rules with their peculiar take on contemporary style.
It's supposed to showcase the latest cutting-edge fashion designs, but as these snaps show, sometimes visitors to London Fashion Week get it so very wrong. One trendsetter, 22-year-old Kassandra Powell, shocked the crowds at Somerset House with her original take on the cyber punk look.
Meanwhile models Laura Murray, 24, and Yemi Ola, 19, made an entrance in contrasting red and yellow wigs teamed with colourful corsets and full length skirts.
Designer Tolis Skoulariotis took a similarly wacky approach, donning bright patterned skater shorts over purple tights with a quilted bomber jacket which wouldn't look out of place on The Only Way is Essex.
The five-day event, which features collections from more than 120 designers in 56 catwalk shows, is expected to generate about £100million in orders alone.

Let's hope some of these budding trendsetters choose to spend their cash more wisely this year. RIGHT?!?!?
#YOLO

...and following in the footsteps in one of my favorite comedians, Russell Howard, its not all about Doom and Gloom...

13 Feb 2013 (UK)

As she carried out her duties trialling new medicines for Cancer Research UK she had no idea she was suffering from cervical cancer. A cancer researcher told yesterday how her life was saved – by a drug she helped to develop.
Dr Hayley Farmer, 39, is part of a team trialling new medicines and vaccines. But as she carried out her duties for Cancer Research UK she had no idea she was suffering from cervical cancer until a routine smear test in April, 2007.
The disease was already too advanced for surgery and she was treated with chemo and radiotherapy before being given Cisplatin, a pioneering drug she and her colleagues worked on during its clinical testing. It did the trick – and she was finally given the all clear last year.

Dr Farmer said: “I have always been very passionate about what I do and why I do it.
"I wanted to work for Cancer Research UK in the first place because I had recently lost my grandmother to cancer. “But now I have had my own experience it makes me so grateful for doing the job I do.
"It was quite surreal when I was first diagnosed. I see the cancer at work every day, but it is very different when it is you.”
Wow, that is fantastic news! It just goes to show you what people are capable of doing in this world. :)
....on to some other things....

Sony fans remember this quote “The next gen doesn’t start until we say it does”, well boys and girls they mean business this time… unless you’ve been living under a rock, you should already know that the PlayStation 4 has been announced and its KICK ASS!!!! But the big question around the biz is how much and when, well I think I have your answers. Sony will be releasing two models. The base model will retail for $429, and the premium is slated for $529.
The Spec differences like Hard Drive space and such is still unclear but the pricing and release date is a fact. How did I got this information you asked… A little bird told me. Anyway, Considering the hardware specs, see pic below, those price points are actually very reasonable if you ask us. The system will be released November 17 2013 (United States).

And just incase anybody actually missed the unveiling of the PS4 at the conference, I have the entire 2 hour video ready for you all to watch. My personal 2 games I definatly want to play are Watchdogs and Second Son. I am anxious, for I might actually consider getting this damn console. I like the look of the controller anyway....

Thanks to our brilliant server master LordDean, we have a list of new and already running servers compiled for the UK side of the world. Everything from Left for Dead 2, to Minecraft, which I might also add, include a wpc stats site in which you can access each of these games listed down below, excluding L4D2. Here is the link for the stats page: http://www.wpcstats.co.uk/ and here is the list:

Minecraft feed the beast
Left for Dead 2
CS:GO arms race
and Stats database

Now to access the Left for Dead 2 server, all you gotta do is go in game and find the server under the Steam Groups server lists (Thanks LD for explaining that to me

For all of you EVE players out there, LordDean was kind enough to give me some insight to work with on some recent patches that were just implemented from the 19th onward...
Some of these patches included:

FIXES:
Ships
Incursus
The description of the Incursus has been corrected to accurately list the 7.5% per level armor repair bonus instead of the former 10%

Modules
The description of the Small Ancillary Armor Repairer module has been corrected to state that it uses Nanite Repair Paste as fuel, not Cap Booster charges

NPCs
Fixed an issue where some NPCs would warp off after the completion trigger NPC had been killed.

New Player Experience
An issue that in some cases stopped the initial tutorial from starting has been resolved
User Interface
An issue has now been resolved which stopped labels from displaying on ships and objects in space when hovering the mouse over them
Fixed an issue where the Inventory window would default to your own cargo when attempting to open up another Inventory location
The ordering of the Top Bounty Hunting Corporations is now in correct numerical ranking order
Fixed an issue where the solar system map would lock up after jumping
Fixed an issue where the camera would jump to the center point of the map while panning with the right mouse button.
...ETC...

Our beloved Hemi has also brought it to my attention that WE NEED MOAR FLARES! (Bah)
But no, on a serious note, he would love for us to get together a lil more often in the Alien games on some nights, whether it be for AVP2010 or ACM, we need MOAR ALIENS!! So if you guys have any suggestions to when you all are free, drop us a note

New Members
There is one new member this week that shows dedication. She posts on the message boards, and even tho she doesnt have a microphone, still manages to jump on TS during games. I'd like to welcome LucyFox to the Clan! Congrats Lucy, you may now dawn your tags WPC style.
This is also meant to remind the people that have applied and are still waiting on entry, that you should try to be more interactive with us as a whole. WPC is a community group which means that we are what we are, a pack. We run together, we die together. We highly recommend to all those that have applied to be a lil more interactive in all cases, TS and the forums!

Check it people, I am growing tired of having to repeat myself on these subjects. The WPC is full of great people from all over the globe, we have fun and we do it as a team. Some of us on the other hand are either taking their gaming wayyy to seriously, resulting in insulting other gamers, or just being plain rude and gross on Teamspeak. Shape the fuck up. The WPC in a whole does not condone to this kind of behavior. If you want to bad-mouth people in game, take it elsewhere.....if you want to fart/burp on Teamspeak, take it elsewhere. Now I can understand that we all tend to slip up from time to time, but try and control yourselves people! Yes, some of us are still in High School, but seriously, just dont do shit ike that. If you have issues with people in-game, be the bigger person and deal with it in a mature way. If you have to belch, stop pressing the PTT key. Easy? I think so....Billy Mays would approve.

...Nuff said...
Time for the Party Bear!

Anyway people, thats it for me this week as usual...but till next time, I am WooDy, hear me ummm....moo?

I rise from the depths of internet obscurity with only a single question to ask:

Is Aliens Colonial Marines worth playing?

I've heard so many different things about it that I'm just flat out confused, is there good points? bad points? The media has it painted as "duke nukem forever" level of bad right now, but I'd rather see some real life opinions too.

Or pseudo real life. Or something.
