Getting to know the personal side of you friendly and mentaly divergent Moderator...

Whats your name? And why did you choose a name like that for?

Well I dont remember exactly why I choose Shadow Spirit. Maybe becasue of the sillent and invisible hunter the Predator is. The real reason has since loong been forgotten, into the mist of time. Maybe it's my clouded and foggy mind thats to blame.. During the course of time my honourble and great name degenerated into "Shad". All because of a little lazy cub didnt spell my full name..And yes you know who you are..

When I was to register on this new site, I wasnt allowed to type in my full name, so it became MrShad.

Can you remember when you joined WPC? (answering many questions in one wift stroke)

Goosh! That seems like ages ago. But it was shortly after AvP 2 had been released. I kind of meet one member, who at the time, were an amazing Predator player. You know him as Lord Borak, Oblivions uncle. We kind of got to know each other, he taught me some special tricks. After a couple of weeks of playing together Lord Borak introduced me to the clan he was in, The Wolf Pack Clan. I met with Solo, who at the time were a very good Predator-player. Then it was decided that they should test my abilities as a marine against some of the best WPC-players. Solo, Lord Borak and another renowned member called ManuMan put me to the test... So how did it go? Well I lost so badly..I wont even tell you how badly.. Lets say my confidence was bruised and battered. I had immitadelty thought of looking for another clan to join, since I thought this hard core clan wants 1337-players and not a punching bag. I havent been more wrong in my entire life.

Solo and Lord Borak offered me position to join, since I clearly possesed some qualities: Like a sense of humour, cooperative nature and downright friendliness. Things that eight years later is still valued more than pure skill.

When you think of WPC when you joined, compared to now, what goes through your mind? How much has it changed since? What was your life like then and how is it now? Has WPC changed your life in any way?

Back in the old days, (Geez its easy to get sentimental). We were a bunch of young and testosteorone-filled geezers with very competetive minded heads. I remember many members who arent around know, and I cant help thinking of "What are they doing know?". Obviously they have moved on with their lifes and on to other games, which is natural. Things started to change when alot of members were "bored" of AvP 2, remember at this time we had played it for over a year or more, and they (including me) wanted the WPC to engage in another game. In this case it fell to the newly released Battlefield 1942, after that I feel that the WPC-spirit faded slowly away.. People werent focused toward the same matters anymore.

My life at that time were alot different from then. It was only me and my girlfriend. Now eight years later I am a husband and a father of a six year old little rascal..Cute little buggars, kids I mean. The last three years I've been working within the Swedish Correctional System and I love it.!

I cant say WPC has changed my life or anything, but I know people in this community that I have the uttermost respect for.

What is it that you think you contribute to the community? If theres any one thing you think you shoud be recognised for, what would you say it was?

My skill or usefullness doesnt lie within being 1337 at gaming. During my time Ive been organizing Clan matches (I was the first Battle Leader), been a moderator (now and then) and finally I were a Long Fang (one of the co-leaders). I dont think I need to be recognized for anything, just the mere fact that people still recognize me, when I return is enough I believe.

We won the clan wars back in the day - if you participated; are there any particular moments that bring back good memories? Any memories at all in general not related to clan wars?

I was one of the six members who were part of our famous Pred Pack. One moment that comes to mind is when we had 2 of our members dropping out (disconnected) and still won!. Cant remember what clan we fought or what species they were.

What other clans if any do you think deserve recognition community wise? Were there any that put up a good fight that you can remember? Did any of them rack your nerves?

Err, well I do remember that X-LR players were extremely skilled in playing Aliens and they sure did put my nerves to the test since the matches were always tight, regardless of who was winning. The clan called 101st Colonial Marines seemed to hold a particular grudge against us, for reasons unknown..

What members do you respect in the community and is there any you miss?

I respect any player who becomes a fully fledged WPC member. There are som members I would love to see making comeback, Lord Borak, Main Gauche and Josh Mac Cabbe. And perhaps even ManuMan if his ego has eaten humble pie..

What do you enjoy most about WPC?

The fact its more geared toward a community than a clan.

What is it you think keeps you a member? Why havent you gone off and joined some other clan?

Well this is/was my virtual home for a long time and I dont leave my friends behind.

What games have you played with WPC? Other than avp ones? Whats your play style?

I have played Battlefield'42, Desert Combat and Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory with WPC members. My play style used to be aggressive, now its more passive defensive.

Is there anything you would like to see change?

No not really. Perhaps some newer padawans to guide. And that Solo finally will stop embarrassing himself as a Predator player in the demo..it doesnt suit and ol' legend being seen playing that badly...

Would you like to give any thanks to anyone?

Blaze: For have held this community/clan togehter through the dark times.

Solo: For just being you.

And the trio of Wasp, Oaksy and Tiddles: Every playing session were a blast and it always ended with my tummy being soar and me lying on the floor laughing.. You crazy buggers..

The End.
