whats your name? and why did you choose a name like that for?

Webley... well, this is kind of revealing to my impulse driven nature and psychotic mind – I played counter strike for a bit, i was only 14, loved being a sniper, so for some reason that lead me to buying an air rifle – who says computer games don’t lead to violence? Hahah, im 26 now, and for your info i only ever did target shooting (shooting coins at 26 yards for accuracy, killing animals was never something i was into, i only bought it in-case someone tried to plant a bomb in my house and camp round a corner) – The manufacturer was Webley Air rifles – thats it J

can you remember when you joined wpc?
Yep, When cartman, silent wolf and solo asked me to join their new clan which was formed pretty much a few days before i joined – so i think i must of been around the 4thmember? So back in early 2002 – 8 frickin years ago!

what was it that got you to become apart of the glorious community?

Well, there wasn’t really a community at the time, just a few guys with a tag who liked playing in avp2, there was a forum, but only a really basic empty one. There wasn’t a site like the one we have now

did you apply to join without prompt or did anyone in particular ask you to register? how did you find out about wpc?

Well it was solo who asked me, we met in a game, (yes i actually met solo in game!! Some of you will never get to do that!!, its a once in a life-time type thing!) lol

can you remember your 1st wpc encounter with another member? how did you meet him?

Solo in TDM, was basically just messing around and him going “do you want to join a clan?”  and me saying “OK” – I was in YSL “Yautja Shadow Legion“ – but unlike WPC it was a really old AvP1 pred only clan, but the community was dead at the time and not growing, and hadn’t since avp1 – so i tried my hand at a new clan instead of joining a big silly one already out there.

when you think of wpc when you joined, compared to now, what goes through your mind? how much has it changed since? what was your life like then and how is it now? has wpc changed your life in any way?

I was a kid at college then – around 18 years old. Back then we formed the idea of building a website, and instead of making a clan based on the ideals of hierarchy and ranking we decided to build a community instead, with a democratic system so that anyone could infact be a potential leader. Most clans split up over leaders and their decisions – so to counter this problem the idea was to form a voting system so that if popular enough, anyone could be a clan leader with a bunch of other clan leaders forming the wolf council.

The night i got recruited i built a HTML site with our ideals and linked it to the forum we already had and that was it, we grew from there amazingly enough. only very few clans had websites which were powered by xoops and asp at that time. Most of them where some kind of Microsoft front page html page hosted on yahoo, with awful flashing banners and some shoddy pictures and a silly “Ranks list”

We didn’t want that so i spoke to solo about a xoops powered site so that everyone could update the site with certain permissions given to them, and that was a massive success to our growth when it went online, some people donated money towards our gaming servers, web servers and development as a result.

I think we even had WPC mugs and t-shirts you could buy at the time! Hahah.

Ever since solo went to work on xoops we never even heard from him again lol, even tho he never left J Whilst that was happening i became a kind of community guy and 2 other people joined called josh macabbe and main gauche. These two French guys became the front runners along side with me, organising our art, pictures, storys, community, clan battles and skins/modding sections.

People were joining WPC for all sorts of reasons, modding, art, some even came along to play the damn game J

Blaze was just a baby wolf back then J

Seeing it now has shown me that we didn’t just build a clan with a system where “anyone could be a leader”, the idea behind building a community super seeded its life span and i now consider it a group of friends as opposed to just a bunch of gamers with the same interests. This really is a virtual home to share old times and enjoy new.

I left as the 2nd leg started and to my surprise, when i found out about avp3 i came back and couldn’t believe my eyes.

Ive always added www.wolfpackclan.com onto my C.V because its a success story, and theres many things i could say about it which are relevant to team work, community building etc. The fact that it still runs now is a major success. I thank blaze for sticking by his guns, he was a baby back then, but he is the true 8year vet, and i don’t think anyone has put in the time quite like he has. He is the truest example of the community that was then and is now. And of course solo for improving the back end of clan RE the website. When i mentioned xoops i never knew he would take to it like he has J

With the openness of the clan rules people made up their own titles “i.e for making art” – the fact that the main gauche used to be our artist and has now been replaced with hemi shows that those jobs stuck around with new people taking them on. Its truly wonderful to see and make me proud to be a wolf.

what is it that you think you contribute to the community? if theres any one thing you think you shoud be recognised for, what would you say it was?

Well i had some of the ideals that where “to build a community, not a clan” i made mods and skins, and also put in alot of time in making sure there was no flaws or arguments with our system, making it as open as it could be, once the foundations were set, everyone else pretty much did this in my place”

we won the clan wars back in the day - if you participated; are there any particular moments that bring back good memories? any memories at all in general not related to clan wars?

I only ever joined one game, and i was at the bottom of the score board which was funny cus i was a kick ass pred. We didn’t even take tournaments that seriously – at least not like the other clans did, and we whooped arse. I don’t know what it was that made us unbeatable? I think its cus we always played with each other, it was like just another online game. I think the fear off us being unbeatable made alot of clan panic before the matches even begun lol. The funniest thing of all was, all the clans we beat, many recruited only skilled players, and we were the opposite.

what other clans if any do you think deserve recognition community wise? were there any that put up a good fight that you can remember? did any of them rack your nerves? got a link to thier website?

[Alpha] – they were a good load of marines, i used to play on their server all the time – i thought these guys are good and gonna whoop us in the tourney. But to my surprise our lot beat them and i was at the bottom of the table for our team lol

what members do you respect in the community and is there any you miss?

I respect all members, but more so blaze and solo for obvious reasons, for being the mainstay of the clan when there was none, its true when they say “theres always a wolf in the woods”. I miss main gauche and josh, they were a massive help and big contributers back then, but i got to thank people like buzz and hemi for wanting to carry on the art and server hosting, - to me the last thing about the clan is the gaming... gaming is merely the by-product – the people who want to help are what makes wpc so fun.

what do you enjoy most about wpc?

Its constantly growing and innovating new ideas that i see clans take on all the time, my clan in WoW was based on the ideals of wpc and it did equally well – however, it didn’t last 8 years, which is why it will never be as good.

what is it you think keeps you a member? why havent you gone off and joined some other clan?

I did, i left, mainly cus the games i liked wpc didn’t play. but i came back, because this is home. this truley is apart of me - i couldnt ever say that about the other clans ive been in, they were just "clans"

what games have you played with wpc? other than avp ones? whats your play style?

Pred – its all i play, i play cod4/6 also – but with all i try to be stealthy without camping, i try to be fast an aggressive yet accurate and precise. I try and play liek the S.A.S who are my heros

is there anything you would like to see change?

Not a thing ever, no way, WPC do things their own way – and its worked for this long. Weve never had the need to compare ourselves to any other clans out there.

would you like to give any thanks to anyone?

solo, blaze more than others. And anyone who donated and contributed. In general everyone.
