I just cant see it being as amazing as every ones making it out to be, I think its alot of wasted money on something that alot of devs arnt going to use like nvidia`s physx.
Id rather them work on something that would be helpful, I mean there only just getting around to the software letting me know theres a update been having to rely on rapt to let me know when i can update my card

It's an alternative API, and once it's on Linux, would give Devs a replacement for DirectX, to allow them to make games for both Windows and Steam OS.

When you think of it that way, Devs using Steam benefit most, since they'll be ready for Steam OS, without the DirectX -> Open GL conversion issues.

bf4 has the mantle patched into it before the mantle driver is even out yet haha - how wierd is that

another thing however is the mantle api is quicker for the graphics card to talk to the CPU which is what people really want to see out of this

it should actually benefit low end systems a fair bit

my only gripe is - the micro stutter fix for dual cards is for dx10 or above (not my fav dx9 games, however i cant complain at 80fps on a dx9 game i suppose with xfire disabled on a single card)

lets see how it goes anyway, if mantle delivers alot of people will start moving to ATI, or at least technology will get pushed even further with nvidia competing, which is a win/win situation for faster performance graphics processing (better gaming)

this is why i love pc gaming still, an xbox or ps would never see new api's get implemented half way through its life cycle (or ever), but pc does!

Yeah, that is weird, but I see it as a symbol that the driver can't be far away.

Still, fixing it for both DX10 and DX11 is better than just 11. Especially since, now that console hardware has progressed beyond DX9 capabilities, DX10 (Wii U) will be the minimum for any new games in the future.

Right i have been creative a bit again to get the seccond front fan in after switching around the drivecage didn's allow that anymore.



I made two brackets out of a top panel of a old pc case i had laying around.


The single hole on the left and right is where the screw will go trough into the case.
That screw used to hold the original dirivecage in place.


Not blocking airflow of course ;)


Brackets installed.


And fan mounted and the only difference you can see is different screws at the front.

Had to fix the front part since tomorrow this should arrive at the office:



I'm going to block off the front mesh part tho since that only shows a the drivecages.

That's similar to what I had to do to get the front fan in so I could flip my CPU and exhaust fans. But instead of a mod, I used these.

The end result was this


Not the same shielded style you have, but it fit nicely within the bays, and I could angle the brackets to be the right distance apart for the fan. Plus, I could put the front panel on over the top, an just leave the foam bits within the covers, so they act as dust filters

Those are handy indeed but sadly they wouldent work in my situation because of the parts
that slide into the area where those brackets would go.
AKA this thing that slides in where normally a DVD drive would go:



Both cages are in place atm, where one functions as normal and the other i flipped around to mount the rad on.


I will keep those in mind for future projects tho :)

A fancy window panel so i can actually see all the hard work i put in it lol


This doesnt come close to the actual lighting tho since the fans and so lighting level are at low speed in idle.


Even on max speed its half as bright as this so im going to need some LED lighting i think


Definatly not as bright as this lol but it still looks nice and will even more with new fans and LED strips.
